• This is an excellent historical document written by someone who actually met Fidel and Che; in the case of Fidel since his start as an 18 year old aspiring revolutionary and El Che, during the early years of the revolution.
  
  It is a very readable book. A very important historical record of the early years of the revolution, based on his own experience working with both figures. It demystifies the two celebrities bringing them down to human size.
  
  It makes you want to read an earlier one, difficult to get Memorias de la Sierra Maestra. The former was written after the writer was in exile. The Sierra Maestra book was written while the writer was still fighting alongside Fidel.
